A Matter of Treason

In my short life, I have never been able to understand why do some people still believe the lies as told by one who is in charge.  I have so many die hard Trump supporter friends that I find them to be more and more repulsive as the days progress.

Why do I feel this way, you may be asking right now dear reader.  Let me put it to you as I have recently read...

"The anger over Trump is not about a political loss.  It's about the realization that so          many Americans are ok with the kind of person he is.
Please understand that I am not mad at you because Clinton lost.  I am totally unconcerned that you and I have different 'politics'.  And I don't think less of you because you voted one way and I another.

No, I think less of you because you watched an adult mock a disabled person while addressing a crowd and still supported him.  I think less of you because you saw a candidate spout clear racism day after day and still backed him.  I think less of you because you heard him advocate for war crimes and still thought he should be given the reins of government.  I think less of you because you watched him equate a woman's worth to where she landed on a scale of 1 to 10.  I less of you because you stood by silently while he labeled Mexicans as criminals and Muslims as terrorists.

It wasn't your politics I found repulsive.  No, it was your willingness to support someone who spouts racism, sexism, and cruelty almost every time he opens his mouth.  You sided with a bully when it should have mattered most, and that is something I will never be able to forget. So, in response to your post-election expression of hope, no, you and I won't be 'coming together to move forward.'  Obviously, the president-elect discuss me; but it is the fact that he doesn't disgust you that will stick with me long after the election." -Phil Shailer, Hollywood
I found this, and clearly it was written before POTUS took office.  I cannot agree more with this.  It defines how I have felt about this man taking office since I cried on election night.  Not because it was he that won, but because, as a Liberal, I am proud to think of myself as someone who is a forward thinker, it was like watching a bad movie where it's like you know what the end it, yet, there is no stopping it.  He won and since then, it's been nothing but how great he is and how smart he is and wonderful of a person he is.

I have to say though, in the last near two years, all I have seen is a man who wants to start little fights with people, get into a pissing contest with other world leaders to see if he has a big dick.  He is what I am stuck with until the next election comes along.  And what kills me, is seeing how the rest of the world now sees the country that I would die to protect.  It's like watching the fall of the Roman Empire and helpless to stop it.

I have remained silent for a long time.  I have watched and been subjected to men and women tell me how wonderful they think he is, the whole time knowing that I am prohibited from saying a word to them in regards to this.  I have tried to make my voice heard, I have voted, which is more than I can say about a lot of my friends, a fact that completely escapes me on how they can just sit by and do nothing. His decisions are effecting everyone around me.  Now I hear that they new candidate for the Supreme Court is going to try to overrule Roe v Wade.  All I can think is how we are going backwards in our progress.  Pretty soon, I am sure I will be told I'm not allowed to drive, and then hold a job.  And for what?!

I hear that abortion is wrong because it's in the Bible that we shouldn't kill anyone, but, I have yet to hear that we are going to be stoning women for divorcing thier husbands.  I have heard that it's against god's law to be gay, but, we still eat pork, and that was a deadly sin.  I love how so many can pick and chose what parts of that book they want to spout at me, yet, they forget the other parts about it because it's not something that we have to worry about now... Everyone loves bacon right?  Half of American's are divorced right?

We sit back and preach how great our country is and how much of a world power we are, yet, we are on the brink of another civil war.  We are crumbling from the inside and the whole world is watching this.

Now, onto the matter of treason...

I came across this little ditty last week and I was so horrified with it I couldn't comment on it at the time.  And this is what gets me.  The photos are of former heads of state with Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia.  And yes, he did meet with all those lovely folks that he's pictured with.  Now, for those who don't know, in every meeting that our POTUS has, there are a variety of others in the room with him, recording every move, every action of others, every single detail is noted.  It's not that we are upset that Trump met with him.  It's that he decided that he would meet with him in private, with no one there to hear anything being said.. I'm sure Mr. Putin had the conversation recorded, but POTUS wouldn't allow even his secret service guard in the room.  This all coming at a time when the CIA, FBI, and other intelligence agencies have firm evidence that Mr. Putin tampered with our election in 2016, in favor of the current POTUS.  This looks an act of treason to me.  An open act of actually taking the word of Mr. Putin over that of our intelligence agencies because, well, he said he didn't do it, so why wouldn't he believe him.  And then he, POTUS, came out on television and said that he pretty sure that Russia didn't have anything to do with it.  At no time did any of these other individuals met with him in private with no recordings or others present.  This to me screams of treason.

So you can keep your holier than thou bullshit and shove up your asses!  I'm done being quiet with this.  Because, this is a matter everyone needs to hear about.

a Question of What do I deserve?

I have days where I hate Facebook.  So much so, that I feel like I have to rant to my girlfriend about how insensitive people are when they think they can hide behind the safety of the computer screen.  Do I boycott the social site?  No.  I don't.  I prefer to not look at their stuff for a while.  Then I will get sucked back into the lives of the ones that I have chosen to let into my life there.  I will hit that like button when someone makes me smile.  Or the heart button when I go awwww...  Today however, I wanted to use the fuck you finger to someone.

I live in a state that has recently voted to raise the minimum wage to a staggering $12.00 an hour.  I mean, holy shit, this is unheard of! The rise to $12 started at the start of the year at $10.00 an hour for everyone in the state, except wait staff, who still make shit wages and have to hope the patrons of their respective places of employment will be generous to leave that far too high 15% rate.  (I will get to this in a moment, so bear with me for a few.)

Of course with this hike in our states wages there will be plenty who are very excited about it, and then there are others who have the opposite point of view and don't like it one bit that we as a voting state have opted to raise the base pay of all working persons to $12 an hour, which, if we do the math, is just shy of $25,000 a year.  However, that won't take effect for two more years.  At it's current rate, the $10 raise from $8.05 is where we are at right now.  For the average, minimum wage earner who works 40 hours a week, has no sick days, and no taxes taken out the yearly will be $20,800.  Now let's take into account taxes, I will use what I take out for personal taxes and other deductions, which is around 206 per pay check and that's only for 32 hours that I work, I assume for 40 hours, figure around $15,444.  Wow.  That's absurd that anyone should want to make more than that! How dare these people think that living with more money would make it easier for them.  Stupid idiots right?!  The very nerve!  So for the fun of it, let's see what the $8.05 would look like for the year with the guessed tax rate... I used around $150 for taxes, though, I think I paid more than that... We are looking at $12,844 for the year.

(The anger that is boiling right now wants to break free... )  Now I'm not so unaware that such a large hike in mom and pop places may and likely will impact the way that they will employ workers.  I see where there will be price increases to pay for the help to run the place.  Likely there are a lot of small business owners who will feel the sting of it, and for them, I sympathize.  I really do.  No one wants to lose their lively hood for reasons like this.  However, I, am not here to argue for the ones who own their businesses or the ones who already made $12 an hour or more.  I am not here to tell you how sad for you... What I'm here to say today, is FUCK YOU!

I grew up with my three sisters in a small town in northern Arizona.  It's not a bad place, I still live there in fact, (not to say that I never left, rather I left and have returned to this place again) and I still like it here.  But, for those of us who live here, and don't have the same ideas in the political aspect of the like minded community, we are considered to be the worst sort of people.  Ones you don't want to talk to about politics because we are those dreaded (dare I say it) liberals.  I have looked this term up in the Oxford dictionary and well, it's not such a bad thing I have found.  The closed mined conservative community that I live in however, doesn't think so.  I know that my conservative friends think I am crazy for my ideas.  I think we should have a minimum wage that allows the people who work, to be able to afford to pay their bills and eat, instead of one or the other.  I remember driving home with work one day with my little sister, and she asked me how much did I make in the year prior, and said, around $12,000.  I think she was shocked, she asked how did I live, to which I replied very creatively.  Last year, I had my boss tell me that I was overpaid and he didn't think he should pay me as much as he did.  But I was losing 20% of my income by not working on Monday's.  I looked at my 1099 and it was $12061 for the year.... But I should be making so much more yearly, but,  less hourly.  I knew and still know what my worth is for an LMT and trust me, I wasn't paid anywhere close to what I deserve for my skills and expected job requirements.  I have to maintain my license, which costs around $100 for the renewal, insurance must be taken out, and continuing education credits must be meet in order to get your renewal.  They don't offer classes where I live, I must take these classes in person in another city.  Not to mention that I had to supply my own everything, and clean them all as well... That's a must there.

For me, that was a low point, and I was so upset by these words that I immediately began the job search.  Several leads and a few interviews later, I am now at the bank.  There is stability in the job I have and my body doesn't ache from doing 8, or 9, or 10 massages in a day.  When I left, I felt like I had been taken advantage of and shafted, I was so hurt and sad by the move.  How would I tell my clients that while I love them dearly, I want them to keep getting regular bodywork, that I could no longer stay there?  There were many things that I thought about this place and in the end, it's his business and it's his choice.  However, my choice is not to be there.

How does this apply to today you may be asking, dear reader, and it's this.  I don't flip burgers for a living.  I have a degree, I have goals and ambitions, I have a license that I still must keep up if I wish to still be able to do massage.  I'm not some kid, fresh out of high school trying to make enough money to buy some weed and fuel and go fishing on the weekends.  I am a grown fucking adult, and I have not overextended my living expenses.  But once in a while, it would be nice to be able to afford to go out to dinner and not have to worry about not having enough to purchase a lemonade to go with my $1. cheeseburger... ( ok, so that's a bit of an exaggeration, I usually spend $7.00 for something and split it so I can have leftovers for tomorrow's lunch.)  I am not saying that this is the case for everyone in the state, there are some who have it so much worse than I do, and for the my job and everything that I have, I'm so grateful, because believe it or not, this is much better than where we were 4 years ago.  But, I have the education, I have the skills and the aptitude to learn and excel in what I do, I have years of experience in customer service and somehow, I have not been able to move above the poverty line for more than a decade.  I live very creatively and I still maintain being a snob with some things, but, not too many.  I have many wants that are just that, wants.  I have many needs, and they fall into order of importance... kinda sucks to do it that way, but right now, it's all I can do.

To bring this back, I am shocked at how many people think that I deserve to live in this fashion.  Because me making more due to minimum wage going up invalidates the hard work they had to put into their jobs to make it to where they are.  Education should come into play in the job field but, I have yet to see where this is helping me.  I see the young kid who is fresh out of high school who makes more than I do come in regularly.  I am happy for his good fortune, and silently hoping for a miracle that I will get that job I dream of, the one where I am valued and appreciated and the pay matches that.  I have that dream job in mind, I want to be that corporate massage therapist who works for a company and just work on the employees of said company.  I have the company in mind, and I have high hopes.  But until then, what gives you the right to say I deserve less because you had to wade up through the pile of corporate bullshit to get to where you are.  How dare you think that what I do is any less important than what you do.  I see these people saying how unfair it is for them that the minimum wage went up, as if it's some sort of personal vendetta against them.  It's not fair that some have to work so hard to get where they are, I am not looking for a handout or sympathy, I just want a fair shot to live and know what it's like to not worry about how can I pay this, to be stress free in this realm.  I would like to think that given this opportunity, I would stay somewhat thrift in my spending, but, to have some wiggle room, to be able to afford to leave my home town for a night for a race, and not wonder if I really afford it, or it's just another dream I have to watch go by because I can't afford to do it.

Stop looking at the ones who you think are less than you because of their job and see that they are people too, who, like most other inhabitants of the earth want, to give their kids a good life and maybe enjoy it.  See some new places, learn new things.  Know what it's like to be stress free.  I will get there, until then, remember, just because that's the way things have always been done, doesn't really make it right.

Hoth is Melting...

My good friends…

The galactic liberal media is at it again… Now they are trying to tell us that Hoth is melting, well that's just plain silly!  I have been thinking on this for the last week or so.  I can’t not say anything at this point.  The fact remains that I am not going to change your mind on this election.  You’re either for one or the other, and most, are not really impressed with either candidate and will be voting for whom they think is the lesser of two evils.  Both are choices that I think we could have done better with.

With that being said, I have some things to say about it.

An Open Letter to the Supporters of Mr. Donald Trump.

Dear Supporters of Mr. Trump.

I accept the fact that I will not change your mind on who you will be voting for in this coming election.  I am glad that we live in a country where we all have the ability to voice our opinion of who we want to be the leader of this great nation.  But, in light of a few things that have been reveled in the last two weeks, I thought it best to address you in this manner.

I have watched a lot of the mud slinging that has become the focus o f this election.  Neither side is innocent of this.  But, as a victim of sexual assault, I thought it best to take the time to talk to you about what you say is ok behavior by this man.  First and foremost, there is more sexual assault that goes on then is ever reported.  I would venture to say that the majority of the people that I know, have had some kind of incident that has scarred them for life in this regard.  Most will never voice this as it does something to you mentally.  It makes you feel lost and insecure and scared of everything.  You become scared of the people who look like the person who hurt you.

For some men and women, it is so violent and horrifying that they never heal from it.  And the scar from that wound is deep and there are moments when it feels like someone is pouring salt on it.  A few months ago, we as a nation, were horrified that one Brock Turner could have such a lenient sentence for raping a girl who was unconscious behind a dumpster while at a party on the campus of Stanford.  We were even more outraged that he was released from jail, not prison, early and sent home to his parents.  I am sure Mr. Turner will never forgot this one act, but then again, neither will the woman who was raped.  We practically crucified Mr. Bill Cosby for sexually assaulting many women, some of whom he had drugged, when it was brought to light, some of them 30 years after the incident.  I, of course was very upset that this was a man whom I had grown up thinking was the nicest of men who loved his wife and to find that he did this, was very upsetting.  Upsetting to the point of rage.  I kept thinking that a man who uses his name to coerce women into sex, has got some serious problems.  Either that, or he’s just an asshole.  For a nation so outraged that this continues, when the charges are against your candidate for president, you seem to brush it off as these women just want attention and why did it take so long for them to come forward.  The media is rigging the campaign against Mr. Trump.  I have seen a photo of a woman who has a shirt that said, “He can grab my” with an arrow pointing down.  I am so furious with this!! How can so many be so outraged and then in the same summer shame women for speaking out against it.  I am lost with it.  I am horrified by the fact that so many just dismiss this behavior.  It was just locker room banter I have heard.  Nope.  Doesn’t fly with me.

I joke about many things in life.  How I dress, my kids, everything.  I DO NOT JOKE ABOUT SEXUAL ASSAULT OR RAPE!!!  It is by far the worst thing to have to go through, and to casually toss it aside as think well, they are out for money, but make a huge deal out of Brock Turner, or Bill Cosby, I would have to say that you have become a nation of accusing  hypocrites.  Earlier this year, there was a huge uproar after the issue of transgender persons wanting to use the restroom of their identity.  So many were scared that transgender is synomimous with the word pervert that there was a big to problem with the idea of letting this happen.  People were banning Target saying they are allowing perverts into the restroom while their wives and daughters are trying to pee… News flash kids, transgender people who use the restroom, have to pee as well and would rather check their makeup than check out your family.  This kind of reaction is strange since now, you’re defending a man who brags about ‘grabbing her by the pussy’.  Is it ok because he’s straight?  Or is it ok because he’s running for president, which is utterly deplorable and despicable and needs to stop!  Like, right the fuck now!  You cannot say how terrible it is for one person to do this, but, other people it’s ok.  It is most certainly not ok!

What really bothered me, even more than the man saying this, was how people I know and love, think it’s ok to have that kind of banter.  I know lots of men who have lots of kinds of conversations and they can range from highly intelligent to very raunchy.  I find it disgusting that so many look at it like, it only happened once, and it’s just talk.  It’s not.  It’s likely it wasn’t the first time, nor has it been the last.  We have raunchy conversations with our friends, but, to talk about it as if it’s ok to treat women like this, is most offensive.  I have seen over and over the posts on Facebook about how women look at what he says and thinks it’s ok because it was a long time ago.

And then, in the last week, I have seen things on social media about how if only men were allowed to vote then Mr. Trump would mostly definitely win the election, with the polls being opposite that if only women could vote Hilary would win.  There have been scads of women saying they would give up their right to vote to get him into office.  I am shocked that they would even suggest this.  #repelthe19th is the handle it goes by…. HAVE YOU COMPLETELY LOST YOUR SENSES???!!!! After all that we have had to go through to get to vote, have a job, hold office, be unmarried and self supporting, there are women who want to take that right away from me…  They want to take my RIGHT, which was fought for with blood and sweat and tears, and take it away.  Susan B. Anthony was beaten by police for trying to vote.  Women’s suffrage was more than voting… it was giving us rights to be able to share our opinion and chose our representatives.  Women started to hold office after that, it gave us a voice.  I can’t imagine wanting to go backwards.  I’m so confused by the ones who think it would be ok to take away my rights.

When I first heard of Mr. Trump running for the highest office in the country, I was intrigued.  The business man who wants to run in politics reminded me of Mr. Ross Perot.  Mr. Ross Perot was a funny looking man who no one took seriously.  I think it was his ears.  He has some great ideas and I really liked him.  However, Mr. Trump and Mr. Perot are very different.  Mr. Trump has most certainly pointed out that we need to do things differently and we need to change a lot of the way we work as a country.  There is no doubt about that.  I even at one point, thought some of the same things he did.  Maybe a wall to keep out the ones who are trying to come here illegally would have been a great idea, however, when thinking about practicality, it’s not going to work.  But, once the election really started to get under way, it seemed he was trying to divide us even more then we are.  I have agree with him in that the media does so much to fuel the fire of division that we have in our country right now, but in listening to him speak, I am more and more frightened by what he says.

I don’t say these things to get you all up on a high horse about what Hilary has done, I’m not her promoter, but the fact remains that I do not want this man to be the actual representation of our country.  He doesn’t stand for what I stand for.  I don’t want more hate and more divides, I want shit to get fixed, like everyone else does.  There is a lot at stake in this election.  If you really want to change things, start by realizing that 82% of congress is up for reelection… This is where the change needs to happen.  Look to the ones who propose the bills that get signed into laws, look at the ones who have voted the opposite way of your ideas on said bills.  Changes must happen, but remember, for those who say your vote doesn’t count, the 30% of us who do vote, get to make all the decisions.

Vote.  It makes a difference!

Thoughts in my head

My  good friends,

I am writing to you today in light of the coming election.  First and foremost, I am not going change your mind if you have made it up completely about who you think should be elected.  We all feel very differently about it, and that's so wonderful, considering that we live in this country to begin with.

I have been thinking about some of the people in the country who have said that if the Donald is elected, they will be moving out of the county.  And this got me to thinking about what our country stands for and how this should be not be taken lightly.  I stated to think about what kind of rights do we as Americans enjoy everyday that other countries don't have.  In fact, just the other night, while having my family dinner, I was asked by my daughter what was I thinking about, and this is what was on my mind.

In our country, we have certain rights that are guaranteed to us, under our Constitution and Bill of rights.  Like, the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  The right to free speech, freedom of the press, freedom to worship whichever deity that I want to.  I don't have to a member to the church of the country if I don't believe what they are putting out.  I can print whatever I feel like, within reason, I can report all sorts of news.  I can have a firearm if I want to.  I may not be able to have open carry laws in all states, but I own one.  I can take up arms against my oppressors.  I have the right to form a militia, (not that I see that happening but, the option is always there) or a members only club.  As a woman in this country, I have so many more rights than 100 years ago.  I can vote, hold a job, make babies if I choose, be the CEO of any company.  I have been asked if I could live at anytime in all of history, when would I choose.  I would say now.  Right now.  There are so many more opportunities for women in this country then at any time, ever, in the world.  We have it so much better with our technology and civilizations.  Our country may have problems, and there are a lot, but, it's not totally a sham.  We have it so good and we don't realize it.  I am sitting in a warmed house, with music playing on my iPod through my Bose speakers, with a TV in front of me, (it's not on) a TV upstairs in my room (that's not on either) and food in my cooled refrigerator.  Holy shit, I'm doing better than 70% of the world.  And the world has more than 7 billion people in it.  So, you do the math, it's a lot.

We have so much that we can do because of our form of government.  Any natural born citizen over the age of 35 can run for the highest office in the country.  There are certain things to be considered when running of course, but, we have that option.  There is a lot to be said about moving out of the country when the election is over... let's really think about this.

Moving to Canada would be lovely I think.  If I was able to move to one of the few places that I am familiar with.  And I hear it's cold, so I'm not sure about that one.  I have become somewhat of a wiener in my old age.  What about moving instead to Mexico.  Well, it's warmer for sure, and they have tacos, and I'm thinking Baja... Sea of Cortez, and there will be a wall separating me from the Donald.  In all seriousness though, I can't imagine what it would be like to move out of my country and say I can't be apart of this anymore.  It makes me so nervous to think of The Donald as the top representation of the country.  Not everyone in this country is like him and when he talks, it's just bad.  People are willing to accept their life somewhere else.  The language could be different, because, let's face if, even in this country, people have different dialects.  Look at South Carolina.  And Boston.  But more than just that, it's the culture and the government and the laws are different everywhere you go.  There are governments that are more corrupt than ours.  There are governments that openly discriminate against people.  There are places that will have you beaten for spitting on the ground.  There is many things that are different and people are willing to leave here for the that because of the leader of the country.  Am I the only one who sees this is more of a problem than what is being showed?

I have spoken with many people who are supporters of the Donald and like I said before, it's not about getting you to change your mind, it's already made up, but, if you could at least open your mind to maybe the possibility that he may say a lot of things to get you going, but, it's a very dangerous thing for him to come this close to it.  He is a danger to our way of life by way of not having a good temperament and having the ability to  deploy nuclear weapons when he wants to tell leaders of the rest of the world to fuck off.  He views Putin as a good guy, yet seems pretty uneducated as to the history and past of the Russian President.  He had stated that Saddam Hussein was also, a man to be admired.  He's made shitty jokes and taken cheap shots at the Veterans of America.  How the lot of them think he's good for our country escapes my mind.  He said that if you were a POW, you must be an idiot, because you were caught.  How does go unnoticed?  How is it that there are news agencies that have to run a fact check when he's talking to see if he's just making shit up, which, after going through the transcripts of Monday's debate, there was a lot of it.  And what the hell is up with his fucking hair?  Ewwwww.... Just completely gross! And he uses the fact that he's rich to throw around like he's some sort of cool guy because he has a lot of money.  I would rather not have money than have to be around him.  He's got money so he must be smart or able to run a country.... When he's gone bankrupt as much as the Donald, I don't see him as being able to run a company let alone a country.

And what really scares me, is not so much the Donald, it's his supports.  As I have said before, I have lots of friends who are supports of the Donald, and they will not change their mind.  They cannot grasp the thought of that woman who killed four people and deleted emails running the country.  I happen to think differently, another reason why I like where I'm at... I can have my own opinion.  And I can talk about it if I feel like it... which I do.

I guess since there are so many that don't want to talk about, I feel like it's something that we need to really look at.  It is a huge thing.  This is a turning point for our country, and we have the opportunity to change things.  I am not saying that you should vote for Hilary, there is of course Gary Johnson, but, he is someone that I will have to research more before I make my choice... but, I can tell you, it won't be the Donald that gets my vote.  Think about it friends, think about it.

Episode IV: Laying the ground work

My friends......

In the society that I currently live in, the word liberal is tossed around with the likes of very bad things and people (think Hilter and the Nazi party).  I hear what a bad thing it is to be liberal, and that the liberals are taking over our country.  So for this very reason, I decided to start a new project with this title.  Which meant I had to start with the actual definition of the word liberal, as well as the origin.  I used the Oxford dictionary because, well, I like it.  It's a good basis for all of English that we use, therefore, I will use it for all definitions.

In essence, this started on a whim this morning.  I was sitting on my new couch this morning (awesome thrift store find) and I watched a small clip of something.  Due to the political climate this year, I have seen many things on many of the candidates.  I will tell you, I am standing behind Bernie and I think everyone should.. But you're also entitled to your own opinion (in this blog, it's all my opinion).  The clip was talking about how the republican party was shocked that The Donald could say something derogatory about Ted Cruz's wife.  The actual clip was on the many different republican syndicated news people saying anything and everything vile about the First Lady and her two young daughters.  It completely disgusted me to hear how they can be so incredible hypocritical in their words.  Not only that, they things they were saying was downright deplorable, especially when you see the men who are speaking.

This got me to think about these men.  Who are these people?  The ones who have not been a politician yet seem to know everything about politics, the ones who have not served in the military, yet seem to know all the workings of our military, the ones who say they are upholders of the Constitution, yet seem to only pick and chose which ones fit their ideas and the ones that effect them.  The ones who seem to know and expect all women to act and behave a certain way, even though, none of them are women.  The overweight, middle aged, rich, white, land owning, conservative males.  So for them, to go on camera and say how fat the First Lady is, I am going to call you on that sir!  You have no right to talk with the body that you have.  It's bad enough the women all over the world are obsessed with a body they will likely not ever really have without some serious side effects, but, for your opinion to be so in line with that, it's any wonder you stay with women at all.  From what I have gathered about any of you, and the views you have of women, we might as well be property again.  What makes them able to spout their hate rhetoric to so many people?  I can spout just as much hate and be just as opinionated as they are.  I need my own radio show.  So with this in mind, let me start with the actual correct dictionary definition of liberal as set forth in the Oxford Dictionary:

liberal

Pronunciation: /ˈlib(ə)rəl   adjective

Open to new behavior or opinions and willing to discard traditional values
1.1 Favorable to or respectful of individual rights and freedoms
1.2 (In a political context) favoring maximum individual liberty in political and social reform
1.3 (Liberal) Of or characteristic of Liberals or a Liberal Party.
2 [attributive] (Of education) concerned mainly with broadening a person’s general knowledge and experience, rather than with technical or professional training
3 (Especially of an interpretation of a law) broadly construed or understood; not strictly literal or exact

Origin

Middle English: via Old French from Latin liberalis, from liber 'free (man)'. The original sense was 'suitable for a free man', hence 'suitable for a gentleman' (one not tied to a trade), surviving in liberal arts. Another early sense, 'generous' (sense 4 of the adjective), gave rise to an obsolete meaning 'free from restraint', leading to sense 1 of the adjective (late 18th century).

After looking over the definition of the word liberal, it doesn't seem to me that liberal would really be such a bad thing.  There are parts of it that I could see why there are so many who think this word is a bad one, and to be liberal means that you are some sort of a bad person.  But in my mind, to be liberal means that I am opening myself up to a better possibility.  Not that everyone who is liberal will completely discard all values, just some that no longer serve us in our current society.

For this blog, I will discuss politics and religion for the most part as well as society hot topics and the likes of that.  There will be a lot more research that goes into this than my other blog because, if I am going to form an opinion of things, I want to have some knowledge on the subject and not be just completely random things that come across my mind.  To begin with, I am going to tackle things that the youth of this country really are clueless about: The Constitution and it's Amendments and what those mean to us, as well as how they apply to us today as liberals.  For that reason, it will be a slow process, examining each on its own and then as a whole.  We are in for a 29 week series.  So, with that in mind, welcome, to The Galactic Liberal Media.  Stay tuned next week.
